Try Our Homemade Aeroponics System Plans, its very easy to build and here’s how to
· Aeroponics system plans
For just an hour of your time and the price of some bits and pieces, you can have a working homemade Aeroponics grow system that works just as well as any well known Aeroponics system that’s on the market, that cost 10 times as much as this homemade aeroponic grow system.
so what’s stopping you!! Go on build your own Aeroponics growing system.
AEROPONICS SYSTEM PLANS PARTS LIST
· 50-litre non-opaque plastic container, with lid.
· 2-meter length of 22mm low pressure PVC tubing.
· T piece connectors x 3.
· Right angle connectors x 4.
· Packet of 10 misters.
· High power fish water pump/hydroponic pump.
· Expanded clay/or expanded polystyrene “depending on which root you take.
· Advanced aeroponic nutrients solution.
As you can see, I’m using a plastic storage container that’s been bought from a hardware store, when you’re choosing the container make sure that the lid has a lip on the inside, its this that will stop any water spray from escaping, and will also save you time in tryin to seal it up "Heath Robinson style."
For the aeroponics system plans, Here’s how I worked out how long the PVC piping should be.
First place your hydroponic pump in the centre, and then work out how much PVC piping is needed, so that your T pieces sit just on Top of the pump.
If you look inside the T piece you’ll see an inside edge, now grab a marker pen, and mark where that edge is on the outside, “do this to all your T Pieces”, now grab another T piece and measure how much tubing is needed and cut two pieces, one for either side of the centre T piece.
Now simply do the same step, except this time your extending the PVC pipe hydroponic tubing, out to the plastic container corners “try to get PVC pipe hydro corners nice and snug” doing this will keep all the PVC piping together, without the use of any glue, which means you’ll be able to clean the PVC pipe hydroponic tubing bits, very easily.
All that’s left of the PVC pipe for your Aeroponics system plans, is the two outer bits, you’ve already have your marks done so measure the distance between your two right angle PVC pipes and cut to fit.
Measure the diameter of your aeroponic net pots, and find a suitable object, lets say a tea cup “remember its not the outer lip of your net cup, but the inner, just under the rim, of the top lip, that’s the diameter that you want.”
In this aeroponic growing system, I have room for six net pots, and the mister are mainly directed at the pots, and the nutrient solution will run down the roots from there, keeping them moist, and all together I've have ten mister with this system, you'll be able to get away with less though, "as i think I've gone just a little over the top with them mister "well there were ten in the pack haha.
While aeroponic growing systems like this are great, they do benefit from the use of a hydroponic air pump, but not for infusing air, into your water solution, “as this is being taken care of already by your water solution moving round constantly”, but simply to replace the air that’s sat inside your hydro container, although i do bubble that air through "you may as well."
You can use expanded clay in your aeroponics system plans if you wish; as this will give you some help with retaining water, if your hydroponic pump fails, although I do use polystyrene if I’m growing from clones/cutting, and I also cut some of the bars on the net pot, doing this will allow more water nutrient solution to your clone/cuttings.
In this picture, as you’ll notice, its a round pot, “as I forgot to take any picks at the time of the proper square aeroponic pots, ups sorry but you get the jist of things.”
The timer you see above is sold as a aeroponics time, it simply plugs into a segment time "below", all it does is override the segment timer, so you can have two minutes on time and twenty eight minutes off time.
Running an aeroponics grow system constantly "like a lot of folk do" means your missing the advantages of aeroponics, which is simply to allow them roots just enough water solution to get moist, and no more, then as your roots dry out over the off time, they'll be able to absorb air, where's if your drenching them roots all the time then you may as well be growing in
deep water culture
, which you could set up for far less cash.
Just in case your not to sure what i mean by "segment timer" just in case thats not whats it called else where round the world, also as you can see every other segment is on the off position, then when it turns round to the on position the aeroponics timer will override your fifteen minute segment, and you'll be able to set it to about two minutes only,,, magic.
